WOULD YOU and your family aged 8+ like to enjoy a trip to the beach with a difference, learning about the prehistoric landscape hidden below the sands?

Come to along to Cleethorpes for a foreshore ramble and discover the preserved prehistoric landscape underneath the surface.

Join the Humberside Discovery team from a national project called CITIZAN, run by the Museum of London Archaeology, to get close to and find out about the prehistoric remains of your coastal town.

Visit some of the close-to-shore Bronze Age “submerged forest” and spot a number of ship wrecks as well as find out about the tourist development of Cleethorpes in the 19th and 20th centuries.

This explorers’ walk will take approximately 1.5 hours with plenty of chance for questions!

We also ask you to have a mobile phone with you, with the CITiZAN Coastal Archaeology Survey app loaded, for Android or Apple, although this is not essential.

Find out more about CITIZAN here.
